MTS briefcase doubles as weapon-proof personal shield

You never know when you're going to need to unleash your inner Rambo, and having the right equipment on hand is probably essential to make sure it ends well. You could carry a metal shield around everywhere and claim it's a hipster umbrella, but if that's not quite subtle enough for your needs, there's the MTS briefcase, which looks like a good alternative. It's a briefcase during the 9 to 5, but when the time comes it transforms into a personal (nearly) weapons-proof shield.

The MTS Multi-Threat Shield looks like an ordinary briefcase, like something in which you'd find a laptop or an iPad and some paperwork for later. It opens into a personal shield measuring 3ft. in length, however, and is — according to its maker — able to withstand bullets, knives, punches, and good ol' fashioned drop kicks.

It's not all fun and no play, however — there is room to have your laptop inside, though it probably won't fare so well in whatever spontaneous gun battle users think they might end up in. This storage pouch includes "covert access".

Says Force Training Institute, the MTS bag weighs 8lbs. and measures in at 12" x 17.5" x 1.75" when closed. It features a single piece of Laminated Kevlar, as well as 1680 Ballistic Nylon and water repellent, is black, and includes a detachable shoulder strap. Price is set at $899 USD.
