MSI Wind U100 Plus with Atom N280 finally shipping

The long-awaited refresh of the MSI Wind U100, the U100 Plus, is tipped to be finally approaching shipping status, around four months since the netbook was announced.  The U100 Plus takes the chassis and general specifications of the original netbook – the 10-inch 1024 x 600 display, the 160GB hard-drive and the 1GB of RAM – and swaps out the Atom N270 processor for the slightly faster 1.66GHz N280 chip.

It also gets a faster FSB, at 667MHz rather then 533MHz.  Previous benchmarking has suggested that there's little difference between the two Atom processors, at least not without Intel's higher-performing GD40 graphics chipset as the N280 is sometimes paired with.

There are also two new color options, Rose Champagne and Metallic Blue.  No word on pricing, but according to Fudzilla it's set to hit Europe sometime over the next few weeks.
