Hot on the heels of ASUS’ new Eee Box nettops comes rival MSI’s new Wind Box DE200. Sporting a new tapered design that reminds me of a Cylon’s helmet, the Wind Box DE200 pairs Intel’s Atom 230 1.6GHz processor with an ATI Radeon HD 4350 GPU and HDMI output.

Other specs include 1GB of DDR2 memory, a 3.5-inch 160GB hard-drive and WiFi b/g/n. The HDMI port shares space with a VGA port, making the DE200 equally happy as a low-power desktop PC as it is an entry-level HTPC.
We’re not expecting the same graphics performance that you might get from an NVIDIA Ion-based nettop like the Acer AspireRevo, but the Radeon should still offer a pleasant shove over Intel’s integrated chipsets. The MSI Wind Box DE200 will run Windows XP Home and be available in four colors – red, blue, white and black – but we don’t yet have any idea of pricing or availability.

Are we sure that the 9400M is truly “better” than the ATI Radeon HD 4350 GPU? Isn’t the 4350 a more robust GPU compared with it’s 790GX cousin, which itself was equivalent to the 9400M?

Cylon’s helmet or is it from the original Star Wars (IV)?
