every single thing about the Xoom is 2x of the iPad. I doubt the iPad 2 will even match the Xoom’s specs.

BTW. . Q42010 Android smartphones outsold the iPhone 2 to 1 — I really wonder were they are getting the hardware to make those phones since Apple is using it all up!?!?!?

That’s exactly what this is at this point in time. A first gen, high-end, first adopters price. Price will drop over the months and by August Android will have quad-core tablets out and the dual-core will be at least $200 less than they are now.

More interesting. . . why do you alway read and comment on Android posts? You are a massive Apple fan form all your comments. . . why on earth do you constantly waste your time trolling every Google & Android article?

The iPad is a year old. It’s way way overpriced than compare to the Xoom. Some people forget that.

Oh, there will be blood on the battle field. WebOS tablet is getting there and so is Blackberry OS. Unless Apple do more with the aging iOS then I don’t see it stand out in the long run.

Some patterns are appearing. Since the most expensive components are the display panels and the flash ram, the hardware producers like HTC, Moto, Samsung, LG will have a hard time following Apple. It is hard because of how many units Apple will reserve for its products. Apple will use up most of the flash memory in their iPads, iPhones, iPods, MackBook Airs, new MacBook Pros (perhaps).

So Android tablets can only just get the same price as the iPad by using 7” displays. Some like the XOOM will try to match it but can’t on the 3G version. Remember within 1-2 months the iPad 2 will be here, same price as the old version and the 1. gen iPad 16G might continue at 399, like with the iPhones.

This all looks like what happened with the iPod. The competitions back then also had poor plastic materials and build (the inside of the Adam is so sad).

Looks like the only cheap the consumer will get from choosing and Android tablet is build, support and OS updates.

Wow, there’s a surprise. It’s less than the fake price but despite being a superior spec to the iPad in every way, and pretty much patching it for price, it’s “too expensive”.

Oh well, you lot can squabble over how much you’d pay for a tablet while the rest of us actually enjoy using them.

pricing is spot on with Ipad 32gb vs xoom32gb 3g 729 vs 799
ipad 32gb vs xoom 32gb wifi only 599 vs 600

matching up dollar for dollar it is nearly identical, however the lack of a 16gb xoom hurts Motorola.

Try telling that to all the iPad owners who paid $600 + for first generation tablets with inferior processor, no front end camera, no back camera, only 3G capable. If you look at it in terms of hardware comparison to an iPad the $800 is a steal.
