You know what makes sense to me? Sell this version for 499, totally undercut the rest of the market, and they will FLY off of the shelves.

If you want to get the best price go to SwayTrain.
Not only do they get the lowest, wholesale price, but they do good in the process.
Very clever idea, IF they can get enough people to do it. I did, but doesn’t work
unless they get enough people to commit.

The average price of all iPads sold was a little over $600, showing that most of the units sold were the WiFi version. Other producers know this very well, yet they continue to offer the costlier and significantly less desirable 3G-versions. In my view, they are still feeling what the market will be like and avoid taking chances by using the telecoms as a buffer.

I’d really like to see other companies man up and try to do what Apple has been doing so successfully in the last few years.

it has more power to run apps like…errr sry no apps for the power…. :-)

in my opinion a tablet price shouldn’t exceed the 600$ but the industry is pushing really hard to set the average pricing at 700

The form-faktor tablet is more expensive than the form-factor Laptop … ridiculous compared to the actual hardware costs

Pricing: we are calculating sharks you are only a rip-off stupid guy we can extort what you gonna buy an ipad or what? Or lets just say our price i a little bit more “M-powered” than Apples ;-)

I think its a mistake to launch the Xoom without the $600 wifi only version. That’s the model that would have given them the best chance of really getting some tablet marketshare. If apple release the ipad2 before they release the wifi only version I think they miss their window.

That just seems so expensive. I realize that the somewhat comparable iPad is 729 (but doesn’t tout the same power and is older), but good luck moving very many of these. I really didn’t know that the tablet form-factor was so much more of a selling point as to justify such a high price.
