Got this phone for my daughter less than 3 months ago. Had to send it in for repairs after about first 5 weeks because power button wouldn't work and she couldn't turn the phone on. Motorola had the phone for over 2 weeks and when I called to ask why, they couldn't even find the phone. Finally got it back. Phone was chipped when I got it back, wasn't when I sent it. Now it has NO battery life. The phone literally lasts 10 minutes before it's dead. Called Motorola once again. More or less got the "oh well" from Motorola. I have to send in her phone again. Who knows how long they will have it this time. Motorola's customer service is horrible. When they answer your questions everything seems scripted. I feel after owning a phone for 3 months and having to send it in twice they should just send me a new phone and let me send this one back. Or better yet, just give me my money back so I can buy an Iphone. I will NEVER buy another Motorola product, based not only on their poor quality products, but on their horrible customer service as well!

My husband and I both purchased the Motorola RAZR Maxx from Verizon and we are GREATLY disappointed. The phones are advertised as durable "Gorila Glass" and "Kevlar Backing". Unfortunately, we have only had them 3 weeks and both phone are inoperable. We have each dropped them, ONE TIME, and the screens are cracked. I have a Motorola Pro that is over a year old, has been drooped multiple times and still works. The RAZR, supposed durable phone, is dead after 3 weeks of use and 1 accidental drop. I have called both Motorola and Verizon on multiple occassions and neither company is willing to stand behind this "durable" product. I would NOT reccomend the phone for anyone that uses their cell phone on a daily basis.

This DROID is the king of DROIDS. Just look at those specs, so much better than the iPhone. This is a great example of freedom and openness and choice that is great for the consumer. Yeah it looks like the DROID X but it has incredible specs and the DROID OS that is incredibly open and free. You don't need apps with DROID OS like with the iPhone because of this openness and freedom of droid. This is DROID RAZR totally beats the Galaxy DROID Nexus.

I had an HTC, actually 2 and was sorely disappointed in there build and reception. Had to stand outside to make a call from them. Since I went back to Moto I don't have to wander around looking for bars or hold it in a weird way to get reception. I'll take functionality any day over HTC. The company I work for was using HTC also for our work phones, but after a year of constant problems with them they spent the extra money and went back to Moto.

WARNING:: the phone's okay but a little pricey. BAD SERVICE AND ATTITUDE. The phone is lauded to have "gorilla glass". This is obviously a marketing ploy. 35 days after activating the phone (verizon) it dropped out of my pocket while bending over. 3 feet or less. It landed on my foot and the glass shattered. The Motorola service people are outside the country and they are very hard to understand. They refused to address the problem and want to charge me $129.00 to replace the glass. The original Droid is more durable and has a keyboard which is a distinct advantage. If I had to do it again I WOULD NOT BUY THIS PHONE. Maybe made in the USA but not handled that way.

BTW, having the USB on top is a plus for me, as I use it plugged in in my car (GPS etc.) and the cable comes out of my dash just above it. No feature is good or bad 100% of the time. I have a Razr and love it. I have a few quibbles, but top fed USB is not one of them.

If you have a problem with the top mounted USB, why not just use an angled end ("L" shaped) cable and issue disappears. Or put the phone on hands free when it's charging. Not a game changer for me. Evo? Why?

I preordered a Droid Razr which arrived yesterday. After it did not load up and start properly I spent four hours on the phone with Verizon customer (non) service, who finally determined that the phone was defective. (They called it "DOA"--Dead on Arrival.) I had to go to a store to get a new phone and had horrendous service from Verizon. I left the store and started making calls to find the sound quality is horrible, more static and scratchiness in the sound than I have had with a cell phone in 15 years. Stay away from the Razr and from Verizon.

Odd that the 4.3" RAZR would be longer/wider than the 4.5" GSII. I'd think that the bigger the screen gets, the easier it is to produce a phone that's really tight to the dimensions of the screen with minimal bezel.
My pocket would thank the engineers - as much as I appreciate thinness.

Also, a cool kevlar back does not "a style icon" make.
It looks cool, but the details are, not so great. The door on the side looks cheesy, and the two USB ports on the top practically scream "Don't look here! We were added on at the last minute, caught with our pants down..." and the side views all look plasticky.

Don't get me wrong, I'd LOVE a water resistant, durable Android phone like this.
But I'm still glad I picked up my 4.5" GSII, even worth switching to Sprint for.

From engadget after clarifying with motorola.. and USING THEIR EYES ..
I won't even consider the HTC ReZound compared to the RAZR and GNex. Yes HTC did promise that it will come ICS "ready", whatever that means. But their update history sucks.
The DX launched with 2.1, updated to 2.2 and even received 2.3. Moto's history of updating is far better than any other manufacturer out there. So with the RAZR launching with 2.3, and getting updated to 4.0 early next year, I would guess that it will receive at least one more software update after 4.0. I'm comfortable with that.
I wouldn't be surprised if the Dev's over at HTC have trouble integrating sense with 4.0 and the ReZound update gets delayed. Look at the TB for proof of HTC's history.
Something to think about before buying the ReZound and locking in for 20months.

Comparing a 3g phone to LTE phone is pointless. There is a reason apple didn't put out an LTE phone my guess is battery life. Maybe with this phone they will design a case with an extended battery. I used on of these in the store a few days a go it is nice and i like the design but android LTE phones just aren't ready for non-removable batteries.

Went and held a RAZR today at a local Verizon store. Did feel good and solid in my hand. However, the pentile display is definitely noticable...not really THAT much better than my DX2. The colors are more vivid but... Opening apps was snappy and smooth. Quadrant ran several consecutive times and I achieved between 2400-2600 on average. Currently average between 2600-2800 on my DX2. Big concern, after reading some initial reviews, IS BATTERY LIFE. I know, I know, can't expect miracles on today's smartphones but I get a solid sunrise-to-bed charge on my DX2 with moderate use (have had a Thunderbolt and probably the worst in the battery category...I'm not into extended batteries or carrying extras with me). I typically, and moderately use, web, video, text, email, and calls on a daily basis on my DX2. The camera did snap fairly quick pictures and quality didn't look too bad...again, compared to my DX2. The speaker was, IMO, exceptionally loud and clear. I am still not totally convinced that the RAZR is going to be my top choice, given GN and HTC Rezound coming very soon. It is hard for me to not give the RAZR a second good look as I do appreciate a solidly built device like the RAZR.

But it can be mostly dismissed because (except for the 4S bugs) the vast majority of Apple's products last a full day, so you don't need an extended battery. I get about 3 more screen-on use out my 4S than my Fascinate, and that's with the battery bugs.

Now if I go on a car ride for hours and use it constantly, I can see the need for a spare battery, but I have yet to get in a dire battery situation with moderate use since I got the phone. Not saying I don't want a removable battery, it would be nice to have, but I haven't needed one yet so it's not a problem.
