Motorola have announced their three new handsets for CES, the touchscreen MOTOSURF A3100, eco-friendly MOTO W233 Renew and rugged Tundra VA76r.  The Windows Mobile 6.1 A3100 has a 2.8-inch QVGA touchscreen, 3G HSDPA and A-GPS, while the W233 and VA76r make do with Motorola's more mundane homegrown OS.  The W233's casing is made from 100-percent recycled plastic bottles, while the VA76r packs both 3G and MIL-SPEC durability.

The MOTOSURF A3100 has a customizable "carousel" GUI with gesture control and RSS feeds delivered direct to the homescreen.  As well as triband 850/1900/2100 HSDPA/HSUPA support there's WiFi, Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP and a 3-megapixel auto-focus camera with video capture. The whole thing measures 110 x 59.7 x 13.7mm and weighs 119g; it's rated for up to 6.8hrs talktime or 12.4 days standby. It will be available in Q1 2009.

The MOTO W233 Renew is an altogether simpler device, with a 100-percent recyclable casing and Motorola pledging to contribute to Carbonfund.org in order to make the W233 carbon-neutral. It has a WAP browser, SMS and MMS support, 850/1900 GSM bands and a 1.6-inch 128 x 128 65K CSTN display. Talk time is rated as up to 9 hrs (550 min) while standby is up to 18 days (450 hrs). It, too, will be available in Q1 2009.

Finally, the Tundra VA76r which meets 810F US Military Standards for drops, dust, vibration, humidity, severe temperatures and rain. It also supports 3G HSDPA, Push To Talk (PTT), has Motorola's CrystalTalk Plus noise-reduction system and a 2-megapixel camera. The VA76r also has A-GPS, Bluetooth 2.0 and 100mb of internal memory, expandable with a 4GB microSD card. It will go on sale with AT&T on January 13th.
