Motorola needs to release a product that will turn the world on it's head. It hasn't done this since the introduction of the very first Motorola Droid. Instead they charge (no pun intended) their Droid line with a little extra juice and processing power, remaining pretty much the same otherwise. That won't cut it against the likes of Samsung or Apple. When was the last time a Motorola phone received as much hype as a Samsung or Apple product? MAYBE the Razr, but that phone turned out to be over hyped for what it was. It's a good idea to let Samung buy them out, either work with a greater power or fall to it!

Dear Google,
Will you take a good look at the state of the market and get into the hardware business with this pending Motorola purchase.

Apple arguably had a very large share of this market, and very good profit margins. Now having said that I think Google could do very well to not look at this as hey, let us get a piece of this margin pie. I feel they could do very well with just a small margin, while shoring up the platform by creating a halo manufacturer of Android goods. One that customer will know, shall have a product cycle they can count on, timely updates, and hopefully, the best hardware.

This would have other positives for them as well. Their set-top box business that they are trying hard to get off the ground would could greatly benefit from this as well, and don't forget their is a certain competitor who by most accounts is about to get into this in a big way. In addition, this could also go a long way to helping shore up their core search business and keep others at bay who may wish to try to cut into that.
