Just read another article that says they have a "Hot inside source", (yeah, right), that the Razr HD Maxx is a rumor and DOES NOT EXIST. Just another reason why I'm not going to believe a thing I hear or read until the actual device comes out. Until then, it's all conjecture.

Really it would be cool, to sell unlock versions. But realeasing another line of razr is not a bad idea. Samsung releleses their third version of th galaxy series. I mean every year there will be new and improved android devices. You ca never keep up with the production of these devices and to be honest the s4 processor makes for a smoother experience and better battery life. But the old razr processor went toe to toe with it as far as browser speeds with the razr beating the galaxy s3 majority of the time. We tested here at my house on the same wifi. So for me no rush to upgrade yet. I had my razr since November. As for the iphone, i could never switch. They offer features that has been on Android devices. Ios6 brings fearures we been using for a year. Research it.

Moto is between a rock and a hard place. Since they are (primarily) Verizon, they need to have "flagship" phones to keep up the demand there or otherwise the phone will get "stale".

If Moto brought the RAZR to ALL american carriers (and unlocked), They won't need to offer a new model to "keep sales up".

The question is: Do they have the "power" like Samsung and Apple...?
I think sometimes why HTC and Motorola "struggle" is because of that.

If HTC and Motorola brought their FLAGSHIP phones to ALL AMERICAN CARRIERS, I truly believe they will be millions upon millions of phones better off.

The problem is? Carrier specific models and/or only one carrier. I have no interest in switching to a different carrier for a specific phone.

Samsung Galaxy Nexus?
HTC One (Nexus)?
Motorola RAZR (Nexus)?

Oh, and if they all made nexus phones and unlocked? Good God, be far more difficult to choose what phones. But AMAZING multiple phones? That will be great for Google/Android.

I'd have to disagree, Moto is killing Moto. This would be the third incarnation of the Android powered RAZR. Nobody needs three incarnations of the same phone within a year. All that does is piss off the people that bought the underpowered initial version(s).

The RAZR is being marketed like a DVD. Initial release, extended release, directors cut.

Verizon is what is killing Motorola! Motorola GOT to bring ALL of their devices to ALL Carriers (and unlocked). Also, go Pure Nexus.

Motorola RAZR Nexus?
5 inch 1280x720 (or 1920x1080p) display?
2GB memory?
1.5 GHz dual core S4 (if not similar and/or faster)
16/32/64GB versions (including microSDXC?)
HSPA+/LTE
Carbon Fiber/Metal Chassis
3500 to 4000 mAh battery
Works on all carriers without a hitch?
Black, White, Blue, Red

Do something like that...? I'll have to pick up an unlocked and go with T-mobile.
Don't do that? Expect for sales to be cut by the millions. The #1 reason why I didn't go with ANY Motorola devices was because of Verizon. If they were on other carriers? (the high end stuff?) completely different story.
