Motorola debuts Pro smartphone at MWC 2011

MWC 2011 is underway and Motorola has made its first announcement of the show with the unveiling of the Motorola Pro smartphone. The smartphone will head to Europe to start with and there is no word on US availability at this time. The smartphone runs Android 2.2 and has lots of features for the business user and for the consumer.

The device runs Android 2.2 and has a 1GHz processor with 2GB of integrated storage. The smartphone storage capacity can be increased with SD cards up to 32GB and the data on that SD card can be encrypted and remotely wiped if needed. The phone also comes pre-loaded with QuickOffice and supports email and more.

The screen on the Pro is 3.1-inch and it supports multi-touch. The Pro also has a QWERTY keyboard in portrait mode for faster typing of emails and more. The Pro will support IPSec VPN networks with AuthenTec security integrated. A desktop dock station will be optional. Pricing and exact availability are unknown at this time.
