Motorola ATRIX 4G teardown finds repair-friendly guts

It's a rite of passage for any new high-profile gadget to not only get a SlashGear review but to be torn down by iFixit, and the Motorola ATRIX 4G is no exception. The Tegra 2 based superphone has been splayed into its constituent parts by the repair-obsessed team, who found a generally fix-friendly design.

The ATRIX 4G scores points for being reasonably straightforward to open – using regular Torx screws and plastic clips – and for not being plastered with VOID stickers. Even the stickers Motorola does use are readily peeled off and replaced.

Best of all, though, the qHD LCD display isn't glued to the glass front, so if you do manage to smash the Gorilla Glass then you won't have to replace both components. That's enough to earn the ATRIX 4G a 9 out of 10 for repairability from iFixit, which goes along with our own glowing impressions of the Android smartphone.
