Moto X Developer Edition for AT&T and T-Mobile now available

Earlier this week, the Verizon version of the Moto X Developer Edition went up for sale, bringing with it a $649.99 price tag and the promise that a GSM version for use on T-Mobile and AT&T would soon follow. Such a handset is now up for sale on Motorola's website, bearing the same price tag and advisement that shipping could take up to a solid 7-day week due to demand.

Obviously, the Moto X Developer Edition is priced higher than typical due to lack of contract subsidization. Developers who nab it will get the Woven White with black Developer Edition design variety with 32GB of storage and 2GB of RAM, plus two-years of 50GB Google Drive storage (applicable only to those who redeem it within 30 days of purchase, however).

The bootloader can be unlocked easily, being that it is aimed at developers. Those who elect to do so will void their warranty, with Motorola advising that, "once you get the unlock code, your device is no longer covered by the Motorola warranty; in other words, please don't blame us if things go wrong, even if they appear unrelated to unlocking the bootloader."

This T-Mobile and AT&T version does not come with a SIM card, unlike the Verizon version of the developer's handset, so users will need to use their own. Such is akin to what you get with other developer edition handsets from other makers, of which Samsung and HTC both have similar offerings available through the Google Play Store.

The Moto X offers a 4.7-inch AMOLED 720p display, and runs Motorola's X8 Computing System chip under the hood, of which we've discussed in detail previously. In addition to the storage and memory listed above, the handset has a 10-megapixel camera, Bluetooth 4.0 + EDR, a 2200mAh battery, and more.
