Mortal Kombat XL trailer releases the date of killer expansion

The second version of Mortal Kombat X will be extra-large, containing – but not limited to – Leatherface from the Texas Chainsaw Massacre and the Xenomorph from the Alien series. The game will be called Mortal Kombat XL, and it'll roll with all of the content from the original Mortal Kombat X, released in 2015, as well as a whole new swath of oddities. Those of you that already own Mortal Kombat X, you'll still be able to bust out with all of this content just so long as you purchase the upcoming Kombat Pack 2.

This release will be made on the 1st of March, bringing Mortal Kombat XL as well as the expansion for the original X. Inside the game Mortal Kombat XL, users will find the following bits and pieces:

Mortal Kombat X Review

• Brand new playable characters 1. Xenomorph from Alien, 2. Leatherface from The Texas Chainsaw Massacre horror film series, 3. Triborg, 4. Bo'Rai Cho

• New Apocalypse Skin Pack

• Previously released content including playable Goro, Brazil Skin Pack, Kold War Skin Pack and Kold War Scorpion Skin

Everything above will be available in the Mortal Kombat X Kombat Pack 2 as well.

If you have X already, you'll just want to purchase that Kombat Pack 2, assuming you've already got all the other expansion packs and such. If you haven't already purchased all of those packs, you might want to consider purchasing Mortal Kombat XL.

Mortal Kombat XL contains the base game, all of the add-ons listed above, as well as the following bits from the first Kombat Pack:

• Playable characters 1. Predator, 2. Jason Voorhees, 3. Tremor, 4. Tanya, with each accompanied by three themed skins

• Samurai Skin Pack

Above you'll see the trailer for this new Mortal Kombat XL release. Again, this all comes out on March 1st.
