When we first told you that Midway was working on a Mortal Kombat/DC Comics mashup game, I was rather skeptical about how good it could possibly be. One of the most disappointing details was the lack of fatalities, however, Midway assures us that they will be in the game.

Unfortunately since the game won’t be rated “M”, the fatalities aren’t going to be the ultra-violent cutscenes that we enjoyed as youths. According to Mortal Kombat creator Ed Boon, they won’t be able to do “the same kinds of outrageous moves, like tearing someone’s head off and the spine being attached to it.” So maybe you’ll still be able to tear off their head without the spine?

I still want to like this game, however, something in my gut tells me that this bizarre cross-over title won’t go down as one of history’s greatest.
