Mortal Kombat trailer teased for PS Vita

The Sony PlayStation Vita launch is only a week away and what better way to ramp up excitement for the new handheld than with an awesome trailer for one of the device's upcoming games. Sony today released a teaser trailer for Mortal Kombat, which is expected to launch on the PS Vita later this spring.

Although the trailer shows scenes of Scorpion and Sub-Zero duking it out on a city street, suggesting that there may be some augmented reality in play, it has not been confirmed and is most likely a negative But even without the AR effects, Mortal Kombat is looking rather kickass on the Vita.

With the PS Vita, you'll be able to dish out fatalities while on the go. Plus, the Vita version comes jam packed with special features and content developed specifically for the handheld. It also includes a new Challenge Tower mode with 150 brand new missions, including Touchscreen Fatalities, X-Ray moves, and much much more. Other major franchise titles to come include Call of Duty and Assassin's Creed.

The PS Vita itself is hitting store shelves on February 22 with a good roster of game titles on launch. There's also bundle deals you can take advantage of as well. But, for the Mortal Kombat title, you'll have to wait until later this spring.
