Moment Case wants to make your iPhone 6 a point-and-shoot star

Moment, makers of some pretty interesting iPhone lenses that snap onto your phone much like an Olloclip lens would, are back on crowdfunding site Kickstarter. After a wildly successful run with their lenses, the team has another impressive product with the Moment Case. Dubbed "the World's best iPhone case for photography", the Moment Case works with Moment's proprietary lenses, but brings in some very DSLR features that mobile photography fans will be very interested in. The case has an actual shutter button, and lets you focus on moving objects, just like you would with a standalone camera.

The Moment Case is simply laid out; a bottom bulge hides the circuitry, but also houses the shutter button. A cutout around the iPhone camera has Moment's secure, proprietary lens attachment system for their impressive lineup of lenses. Moment thinks the case is suitable for everyday use in addition to photography needs.

The shutter button is the star, though. You can half-press it as you would with a DSLR camera to focus on the fly, or long-press for burst mode shots. Of course, it's also useful as a point-and-shoot.

The shutter button links to the camera via Bluetooth — it's not mechanical. Moment also says it's "incredibly responsive", but we'll wait for a hands-on before we brag-up whether a case can take the place of your touchscreen in that regard.

You can still use your screen, though — Moment's case takes nothing away from your iPhone. It works with a proprietary app, also made by Moment, which has manual controls and a customizable interface.

For $299, you can get a special edition Moment case with a wood handle (limited to the first 25 backers) and both lenses (wide and tele). If that's not your speed, $199 brings you the basic case with two lenses, while $125 gets you the case and one lens of your choice. A modest $49 gets you the case itself, no add-ons.
