A modular phone system created by Modu Mobile has officially booked by the Guinness World Records as the world’s lightest phone; it weights a mere 40.1g and measures 72mm x 37mm x 7.8mm in size. The company says not to discount the physical of the modu. It does what a sophisticated cell phone does these days including speaker, Bluetooth, MPS3, 1GB of storage and send and receive SMS.

The Modu is based on a module interchanged ‘jackets’ concept that turn a tiny cell phone into a fully functional phone or gadget that enabled internet features. The company is expected to launch the modu In Italy, Russia and Israel on October the 1st, then probably in US next year. A Modu with two jackets bundle is estimated to sell around $280.

    I want one. this looks a much better proposition than the Xinuchi 184. Do I really have to wait until October and can I get one for the UK? I have Nokia N95 but need a small phone for nights out so as not to ruin line of clothes! Let me know when/where I can buy one.
