I’m using Namecheap myself, but recently found out that they’re actually reselling for eNom, which is surprising to say the least. But I’ll consider switching only if I have any issues, and so far there have been none (knock on wood).

Funny that I almost went with GoDaddy a few years ago, but their checkout page wasn’t working at the time – saved me a lot of trouble by the looks of it! :-)

NO NO NO NO NO. They may not “officially’ support it but their CEO has gone on record as saying they still support the legislation even if they aren’t lobbying for it any more. It was PR cleanup is all the announcement was.

*shrugs* Watch. Go Daddy will put out 3 super bowl ads with mostly neked woman and BAM…anything lost will be recouped. I have no faith in consumers anymore.

That was a lie. When MLG pulled out their name was still on that bill. I hope their service rots and is buried forever in the internet for even attempting to support SOPA. Even more, I hope Annon and Lulzsec bring a banhammer down on them.

They are for stopping piracy but they are against the SOPA until legislation is drafted that the internet accepts. Their stance is clear.

Are Go Daddy going to undo the lobbying for the bill and the testimony at the House or the helping draft the bill?

Unless the undo all that, their “not supporting SOPA” now means f*ck all.

Godaddy helped write the SOPA bill. They are the same corporate scum they were before… they just said now they don’t support it to help save money.

I contacted godaddy since i have a few sites with them. They no longer support the SOPA.

While I support the reasoning for them doing this…I still wonder, why the hell were they with GoDaddy in the first place?? Namecheap is by far a better provider to begin with.

And tastygroove, changing providers for over 100 domains wouldn’t be a small task, these things take time.
