When the technology was relatively new the Sanyo plv z1 was introduced at about 3m but when I got it near the end of it’s cycle (about a year) the price had migrated to about $500 at B&H. Costs associated with production must be much less now but prices don’t drop nearly as much as they used to. We should be seeing some 1080p at the $1000 price point at least, by now.
Especially with xmas coming and the economy crashing.
