Minuum shows of morphing keyboard for iOS 8

We already knew Minuum was going to be an everywhere keyboard. Even during their crowd-funding push, they showed off several interesting concepts for their keyboard. While we still don't have the "type from a piece of paper" keyboard they showed off, more useful options abound. Now the company is teasing their incoming iOS 8 keyboard — and it's a doozy.

If you're not familiar, or just need a bit of a refresher, Minuum is a very minimal keyboard app that can be found almost anywhere. The keys are scrunched down, leaving you with more screen real estate to view conversations and such. Be it the smartwatch or smartphone, Minuum is finding a way to make their keyboard present and accounted for. The stripped-down nature of their keyboard makes it ideal for a variety of platforms and form factors.

With iOS 8 bringing in third-party keyboards, Minuum is jumping on the typing train. Their still-unfinished keyboard is being teased, and it just might leave users with as much — or little — keyboard as they like. The GIF, which you can see above, shows us a keyboard that can be resized on a whim. Slide it up, and you get bigger keys. Down, and you get the scrunched-up keyboard that made Minuum so popular.

We will caution against too much enthusiasm, though. This isn't showing an actual working concept, and while Minuum is exciting — their conceptual keyboards are sometimes a bit off the mark. Still, we think this is one of the more do-able and exciting iOS 8 keyboard concepts. Even more exciting is that it's not a boring Android port; it's totally new.
