Yeah, I know its kind of late, but I assume they will go fast. Woot has the 30GB White Zune for sale for $149.99, that’s a savings of $100.

It’s a good portable media player with such features as built in WiFi and an FM radio. Other than that it has a leg up on the iPod on screen size too.
So get’em while their hot. I have a feeling they will go pretty quickly.

Uh-huh, suuuure, unless you consider it’s actually the *same* number of pixels as the iPod, but *stretched* out of proportion! Oops!
And oh, is that a click wheel? oops no, it’s a click clicker *shaped* like a wheel to fool you.
Sorry, but crap is crap, no matter what color you paint it. ;)
monoclast: you are an idiot, aren’t you?
1. The Zune screen resolution is the same as iPod yes, but the screen is size sure is bigger and easier on the eyes. Zune Screen > iPod Screen ANYDAY.
2. You iFanBoys probably love your silly little clickwheel, but a lot of people prefer actual buttons.
Wow… personal insults! I just love it when Zune zealots get all personally offended because someone actually stated the truth about their crappy little devices. : ) Since I am an adult (mentally as well), I’ll ignore your little childish insults…
Bzzzt. Wrong. The truth is pixels on the Zune’s crappy little screen are *stretched*, meaning a square pixel on any other screen is *rectangular* on a Zune. So images and text are distorted from how they are designed to appear. You call that better and easier on the eyes? I call it distorted crap. Anyone willing to shell out that much money for a crappy music player like the Zune, obviously doesn’t know or care about true quality.
Oh that’s rich. You’re actually trying to say that you *prefer* buttons over the click wheel with a straight face?
Obviously in your mind, anyone who doesn’t like the Zune is an “iFanBoy”, but let’s not forget who started slinging personal insults around at the slightest hint of Zune criticism. No, I think it’s *YOU* who are the zFanBoy. ; )
alright kids, first of all, i have had an iPod (5th gen) and then sold it to buy a Zune
i would trade for my ipod back any day.
about the pixels being stretched out, i will tell you video looks amazing on the Zune, i never tried video on my iPod though, and text is irrelevant as long as you can make out song titles and the like, which is quite easy to read on the zune, i am not going to read a book off of my MP3 player.
and i do agree that the zune’s non-clickwheel interface sucks, its not so bad with a small library, but you fill up that 30gb with a ton of songs by a ton of different artists from a ton of different albums, and getting through the list takes forever.
like i said, i have had both, and would kill to have my ipod back, but at a $100 cheaper than the 30GB iPod, the Zune is a far stronger competitor than at the same price point.
if you hold the button down it scrolls faster.
I bought a 5th gen ipod from a local pawn shop and used it for about 6 months, it was cool and got the job done but the second the zune came out i traded the ipod in and got one. I love it. i for one cant stand the click wheel. i hate having to go back and forth when i turn the wheel to fast past an album. you have to be dead on with it and sometimes there is giveway before it actually starts to move. with the zune wheel its dead on all the time. as for the stretched pixels, i like the wider screen better, when it comes to complaining about a single pixel being rectangle vs. square is a little bit anal retentive, especially when it comes to .mp4 files. if you want hd quality in a handheld your going to have to wait a little longer. i think the main reason i like the zune it because of how easy it is to mod. being able to use it as a flash drive and how easy it is to get it to play other file types, plus the wireless song transfers.
have you ever heard of Linux for the iPod? you think the Zune is easy, install Linux on the iPod and the possibilities are nearly endless.
