Microsoft Windows 7 DVD to USB download tool lands

If your computer is a netbook or an ultraportable that lacks an optical drive you may have been waiting for a way to get Windows 7 onto your machine. Sure, you could have bought it from one of the download vendors, but if you want a disc copy of the OS Microsoft has finally released its tool for the job.

The Windows 7 USB/DVD tool is now available that creates a bootable USB stick from a Windows 7 DVD. The tool is designed to allow the installation of the OS onto a computer lacking an optical drive. The tool is free and is available on the Microsoft site now and it is open source as well.

I wonder how easy this is to use and if the bootable version made from the disc works exactly as the version on the DVD. I would assume so; let us know if you try it out. I'd like to know how easy this whole process is. I have a Wind U100 begging for Windows 7.
