Is Microsoft about to launch the Zune in a new color? If a tree falls in the woods and kills a mime, does anyone care? A recent Target ad will shed light one one of these burning questions.

Blue Zune

Apparently a Target ad that’s good for September 9th-15th shows off the Zune in blue. Wow, they’ve finally gotten around to releasing it in blue? I’m finally going to overlook all of the reasons why I don’t care and buy one!

I didn’t see any of these when I was at Target a couple of days ago, but then again I don’t regularly examine their stock of Zunes while in their electronics department. I’m going to venture a guess that they’re not out, and this is likely some sort of mis-print by Target. Will we ever see a blue Zune? The real question is whether or not anyone will care.

Why don’t you try using a Zune before you dog it out, much less write about it.

maybe they want something to match the OS when it gets a blue screen. By the way, what’s a zune? ;-)

(tried a zune, nice screen, but feels like carrying a brick in your pocket)

I have used a Zune on more than a few occasions, I even had the opportunity to carry one around for a little while. It’s big, bulky and ugly. There’s no way I would continue to carry around something that large in my pocket all day. Not to mention the iPod UI is much more sleek.

its not a blue zune.. its a black one with a blue doubleshot.. with a picture taken in weird light.

It’s not blue and the other one isn’t pink. It’s the red and black zune with poor lighting or print quality.

No matter what the colour its still a Zune. So whats the point! The Zune hardware patent is owned by Toshiba. Microsoft is licensing this. So any expectation of hardware innovation is non-existent. Unless Microsoft has something brewing in their r&d labs which may point to a Nano sized Zune. But all you can hope to expect is a colour change and better wifi CONnectivity and obviously a blue Zune.
