Never experienced a nerd fight before or read a list of comments where everyone is so smart, they just battle wits instead of actually discussing the post. This went from language, to its hack-job origins, to its hippy ancestry. Seriously? You guys are great.

Don’t troll over grammar. i cud undrstnd if it got in the way of communication (see first 2 words in this sentence), but you’re ridiculous. The “rules” of this language came about by taking Latin words, mixing them with Greek and then using Anglo-Saxon grammar (both of which stem from the mutilation of Indo-European). Did you know that you probably couldn’t understand the original English of about 500 years ago? They’d think you’re grammar is terrible. In 20 years, I bet YOUR grammar will be out of date, so SHUT UP because you CLEARLY don’t understand how language works. Grammar is commonly made mistakes based on an old language.

Do you know how English even came about? It was by butchering most romance languages, and then slurring in some Anglo-Saxon. Language is about communication, so long as we can communicate, it’s fine. If we want to live in peace, we can’t nit-pick over every little detail.

I wish someone would calculate the total cost on society from people being language assholes in comments. Storage, data transfer, power consumption, everything I’m guessing the largest factor would be the cost of wasting everyone’s time that doesn’t care about nitpicking, but actually care about an on-topic discussion.

Incorrect. If we want to sound like professionals, we need to write like professionals. A language is a set of rules. If we don’t adhere to those rules, we’ll lose our language.

Never understood why ease of dismantling is a consideration for consumers? most people can’t even use their computers properly, never mind take them apart (which invalidates the warranty anyway).

That should be “easier to remove than the iPad”, not “easier to remove then the iPad”.
