As they are now, they don’t play well with MS Office (I’ve had trouble converting documents back and forth and formatting getting messed up). For most people that are purely consumers open office is fine. But if you need to work with others using office or need some of the advanced features in MS Office then Libre Office or Open Office are not for you.
