Microsoft have confirmed a limited-edition red version of their Xbox 360 console to tie in with Resident Evil 5.  The Exclusive Red Xbox 360 Resident Evil Limited Edition Console will, aside from its new paintjob, come with a copy of the game itself, a red wireless controller and a number of other peripherals, though they won't be color-matched.

The other peripherals include a 120GB hard-drive and an Xbox headset, which are both black.  Buyers will also get access to an exclusive Resident Evil theme available to download through the Microsoft LIVE service, together with a copy of Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix just in case they get bored with Resident Evil 5.

Microsoft also throw in component, HDMI and ethernet cables; you're basically looking at a red version of the existing black Xbox 360 Elite.  News of the limited-edition console spread when Microsoft added it - accidentally or otherwise - to the spotlight section of LIVE.  It will retail for $399.
