Microsoft Office 2016 preview arrives for Windows 10

Those in the Windows Insider program just recently received an email update, and nestled within it is a little tidbit of info: the Microsoft Office 2016 preview is now available for installing on Windows 10, letting those testing the newest version of the operating system see how the upcoming Office edition runs. The Office 2016 preview arrived this past May, and just a few days ago Microsoft announced a second update to it, adding in improvements and other goodies.

The newest announcement came from Gabe Aul in the form of an email to those in the Windows Insider programs, and follows a spat of rapid Windows 10 build releases just before the holiday. On July 1 Microsoft detailed the latest update to the Office 2016 preview — with it came new charts in Excel, insights in both Excel and PowerPoint following the insights in Outlook and Word, real-time typing in Word, which comes in handy when collaborating with others, and "Tell Me", an new way for users to find whatever command they need.

Other features include converting handwriting to text in PowerPoint, Excel, and Word. New features will be arriving in the preview in the future, says Microsoft, and it will be launching for those outside of the Insider Program later this year. Check out the timeline below for more!
