While I can’t exactly say that I’m surprised by this turn of events, it does put a damper on the hopes of thousands of would-be Xbox customers who were hoping for a holiday price cut to really stick it to the then-new Sony Playstation 3. Microsoft has announced that the Xbox 360, their next-generation console, would not see a price cut at all this year, backing up comments made by Microsoft Game Studios head Shane Kim at E3, where he commented that “we feel very good about where we are in terms of pricing and the value that we offer customers.” Or is the possibility still real, and Microsoft is simply being misleading?
