I must admit I’ve been favouring PS3 for games recently when they are relased for both consoles. This is mostly due to the amount of racket the 360′s optical drive makes all the time.. It really is very annoying, so this “intall to HDD” option is very welcome and not before time. I guess the sales of 120gb HDD’s will sky rocket thie xmas too, and it may help MS recover something fome the ashes of the defeated HD DVD…. my PS3 becomes a BD player once again ;-)

Nope. No way back to the “blades”, but I have to say, I got my 360 on launch day. While i never really had a problem with the Blades, the did infuriate me more by the way i couldn’t find anything anything I wanted to find in the Marketplace.
This is a much better, sleeker, interface and I’d be surprised if existing users didn’t like it (especially given the fact that it can potentially make playing games a better, quieter, experience with the install to HDD option!)

Well, outside of the blatant fucking Mii ripoff, the interface has long been overdue for an overhaul; the current Blades system was always complete shit and far from intuitive and easy. Streamlining the interface like this should help bring in new, traditionally non-gamers like the Wii did. Hopefully this new upgrade doesn’t also infuriate existing users.

I guess you can’t choose to go back to the old blade system if you wanted to then?
