Yep, another MAC fan boy crying that Microsoft is making fun of a MAC. How soon you forget the years that Apple ran the I’m a Mac, I’m a PC ads.

OK, so Blu-Ray is dead, and what’s the alternative? It should:
1) Be able to ship 50 GB anywhere in the world, in a time shorter than the duration of a movie;
2) Store the movie forever;
3) Be able to be played back even in the future, even if you change media player, operating system, or hardware;
4) Do all of this for a small price for both the manufacturer and the user.

I’m sure the centre of New York has fast enough connections for (1), but most of the rest of the world hasn’t. (3) just isn’t true for digital downloads due to their DRM (unless you mean “pirated matroska digital downloads”, but that’s a different story).

And there’s another reason,
5) BD are shiny
which is indeed an advantage for collectors and movie fanatics who like to have a physical representation of their movies to keep.

Yea, but mac gets it. Blu Ray is already old technology. I’ve got a mac mini HTPC with over 200 1080p videos w/ digital sound. The idea of having a stack physical media just seems stupid.
