Microsoft had a big announcement just a little bit ago. I’m not sure why companies have to announced things at midnight when most of the working world is in bed. Luckily, we don’t sleep here at Slashgear. They are officially launching the Surface.

If you’re not familiar with the Surface it is an interactive desk that is reactive to touch and interacts with other objects via RFID. It features a multi-touch surface that can detect up to a dozen different inputs at once. It can even recognize certain objects when they are placed on the surface.

You will be able to play with one of these at Harrahs and Starwood Casinos and in T-Mobile stores; sadly, even though Microsoft have released a vague $10k pricetag, they’re not for sale to Joe Public yet.
