"um which part of a central notfication portion are you talking about
Because it does seem to have this: Done"

Notifications are still displayed in their respective tiles. They do not have a central notification area like android and now IOS 5.

"Tether = share wireless network : Done"

Appears this just got added on Mango so I'll eat that comment. Keep in mind Android has had this for over two years already.

"Just loaded a webpage before all the pictures loaded and it zoomed in just fine:"

"So just curious, what phone have you been looking at? and why would you bother commenting on theings you dont know and havent examined recently but instead of are parroting someone you heard?
Is your ego really suffering that much?!"

I am sorry but you are flat out wrong on this. The way the OS works in WP and IOS is that priority is given to UI thread. Because of this, all actions will stop when you interact with the screen. Your comment identifies that you clearly didn't understand what I was talking about. Yes, you will be able to zoom just fine but until you take your finger off of the screen, nothing will continue to load. Maybe you sir are the one who needs to talk after doing some reading.

I didn't even get into androids largest advantage over all of the other platforms. The ability to swap out default services. If I don't like the keyboard my phone comes with I can swap it out with probably fifty different options from the market. This also applies to the browser/dialer/camera app/ launcher (this one actually lets you customize your entire UI)/Contact manager etc. This list is longer I just can't think of anymore right now. Not to mention widgets.

This isn't even counting the additions made by Ice cream sandwich which all of the other OS's are playing catchup to now. Face unlock / quick response to canned calls / swipe to dismiss notifications (IOS has this) / real time voice to text / better autocorrect (IOS has this) / network data control built in / improved accessibility for the disabled / visual voicemail built in / instant shoot on the camera (IOS now has this with the 4S) / panorama mode (IOS now has this with the 4S) / photo editor (IOS has this) / live video effects / a browser that was already faster than IE9 just got faster / NFC android beam / wifi direct and bluetooth hdp / soft key navigation (I think this is the biggest breakthrough, now you can maximize your screen space as the buttons hide when not needed).

If you doubt what I am saying, pick up a galaxy nexus in a store. Thing is a beast. No lag and hands down the best smartphone on the market. Look around online, people all throughout the tech community are touting ICS as the best mobile OS ever.

BUT - i do agree with the tile thing. They better allow for more customizable tiles, or transparent tiles or something like that.

Sounds like a lot, but when everything is taken into account, it's reasonable.
Making drivers, extensive testing, extra work for every update to avoid consumer outrage, additional manpower on payroll for all that.. It's elegant. just like WP itself :)

I agree that live wallpapers is a novelty but tethering and an the best notification system certainly isn't. What did I claim that they innovated that they didn't? Please elaborate. Speaking of notifications, the lack of a central notification area is, in my opinion, one of WP greatest downfalls.

POS phone? Put a galaxy nexus next to any windows phone and the windows phone looks like garbage. 2010 specs and an OS that is still catching up on basic features. You have clearly never used a decent android device if it stutters constantly or lose support after two months. Get a nexus, or any htc or SE device if that is a concern for you. You must have been using a bargain bin android, in which case you get what you pay for. Not to mention, the stuttering is actually an advantage to the os going forward since it is a product of the UI layer not taking priority. Meaning, that when you touch the screen the device doesn't stop what it is doing. Now that phones are coming out with dual and quads (soon), this is actually an advantage over IOS and WP. I will be able to zoom in and show you something on a webpage while it is still loading. If you do the same, the page will stop loading and you will be presented with artifacts.

Nice? Really, a grid of square monochrome tiles? I'm sorry but people are different and want more customization than the color of their tiles. Numbers don't lie, people have voted with their wallets and WP is on the losing end.

Oh no, what would we ever do without LIVE WALLPAPERS lol android is cheap, slow, and stutters whenever you don't hit task killer. stop claiming android innovated things they didn't.
as for kool-aid, i drink all flavors from grape to cherry, its just that i rather have something that works, than one i have to maintain (android). Im careful when i spend my money. in my opinion, you shouldn't drop $250 on a POS phone running android while locking yourself in a 2-yr contract for something that isn't going to be supported 2months from purchase. You shouldn't blame the windows phone team for making something nice to use just because an old bald dude makes a fool of himself.

When you consider all the functionality put into an OS it's actually pretty reasonable. For example, most premium GPS apps cost $30...and they don't cost billions to produce.

its clear they aren't over charging or an OEM wouldn't pay. If there wasn't potential in the OS then there wouldn't be developers either. You sir are talking out your butt. There is no way you know the exact market share of Windows phone if you do, what's your source?
If you're mad that they're making money off google, that's google's own fault for trying to take the easy route, android is a copycat OS.

I would say it is more likely they have to build windows phones as part of their android patent licensing agreement lol. Let's just say it can't be easy to convince a manufacturer to use an OS that has actually declined in marketshare since it's launch a year ago.
