I’m sure that you all remember the story from a few weeks ago about the gamer that had his prized Xbox 360 scrubbed clean at a repair depot. The guy had collected signatures and artwork from a number of important people in the gaming industry, and then had it scrubbed clean by a technician. Bungie was more than happy to hook the guy up with some cool swag, however, Microsoft had been strangely quiet on the matter. Until now that is.

Microsoft Care Package

Apparently Microsoft has gotten all of the original signatures on a new console, and a few others that were not on there, including Mr. Gates himself. I’ve been wondering how long it would take them to put together something for him. Here’s a complete list of everything Nathaniel received:

  • 1 Xbox 360 console (signed by original RT signers, new artwork by Luke McKay, signatures from Xbox 360 team, additional signatures from Bungie Staff)
  • 1 Xbox 360 faceplate (signed by Bill Gates, among others)
  • Devil May Cry 4
  • Lost Odyssey
  • Rainbow Six Vegas 2
  • Gears of War
  • Kingdom Under Fire: Circle of Doom
  • 2 ‘What’s Your Gamerscore?’ Bumperstickers
  • Xbox 360 CD Wallet
  • Signed picture of Bill Gates

In all, there is some pretty cool stuff there. The only thing I don’t really get is the signed pic of Bill Gates. I can’t ever recall a time where I thought to myself “If only I had a signed pic of Bill Gates to hang right here.”

If he can bear to hang on to the Bill Gates pic, in 50 years it might fetch a decent price at an auction maybe? We may not be great BG fans, but he has a place in the history of computing as the guy who talked IBM into making the DOS operating system available outside IBM itself.
