sorry but I dont think you understood what I was saying. I am not talking about the back button. I am aware of where that takes you but in windows 7 the actual path shown in the bar is interactive. Better system. You click on any root folder and you are taken there quickly.

I'm down with a switchable touch and mouse/keyboard UI.

But - just because it might be ideal to do file management in the comfort of a more precise keyboard/mouse world does not mean I always have that option at hand.

This needs to have capability in the touch UI to do general file management easily and robustly.

I hope I can turn this off or I will just say "Thanks, but no thanks, I will stick with 7". I hate having to even look at the menu tool bar. To me this looks like a large mess when everything is already located as either hotkeys, in the menu bar, or inside a context menu that is generally quick and easy to access.

It's only confusing because it's different from what we're used to. Power-users of MS Office hated it when 2007 came out and brought us the ribbon - but once we got used to it, it's actually really simple. Also, it was something I would be comfortable introducing my grandma to - because it's more clear. It looks to me like they're just bringing the ribbon to to the rest of the windows experience. I think it's a great idea. I'll take the features I use the most and just add them to the quick-access menu. My wife will do the same to her computer and we'll both be happy.

Good Idea Microsoft!
