My thoughts exactly. I would own a winphone device (for science) if there was just ONE killer app. (I'm a gadget geek, not a fanboy.)

Keywords: based on OS alone. Unfortunately thats only a fraction of what makes a great all-around device.

It's still blossoming... Winphone is in the awkward teens stage... Still wearing braces and pimply faced.

I would say it'll be well after win8 is released for it to gain any real traction.

Uhh...exactly which phones are being advertised? If I walk into a store, which windows phones are they gonna push? Oh that's right the Lumia 900. I'm not bashing out of ignorance, I'm bashing a bad product with glaring flaws. I'd give props where they were do as I do with Android and iPhone, however I can't see any upside to the windows phone. It doesn't do anything better than the existing smart/dumb phones. Your apparent bias towards the product says to me that you just want to not feel bad about your purchase. Which is completely understandable. MY OPINION is that the windows phone marketplace will fail just as the platform it lives on will. If you don't agree, that's your prerogative.

And by the way, there are far more Windows phones than the N900. If you were paying any attention you would know this. But you'd rather just bash out of pure ignorance it seems.

I don't think you've actually used a Windows Mango phone given your comments. Manufacturing bugs with the N900 notwithstanding (as if they are the only manufacturer to release phones with defects), the Windows phone OS is stupendous. It runs incredibly smooth and responsive on what is essentially dated hardware, very intuitive and easy to use. It's only knock is just the paltry marketplace, and it's dated "tell me" voice command technology.

It's not perfect but far from horrible. I'd take a Windows Mango phone over an iPhone any day if we are simply basing it on OS selection. Microsoft's biggest mistake is not advertising the phone enough outside of New York city.

This is amusing considering the quality of some of the apps already in the marketplace. LOL.

Now they just need people to buy their horribly inferior phones. I laugh every time I see one of their "beta tester" commercials. Do they not realize that the Lumia 900 was so horribly broken at launch that most if not all 12 people that bought one couldn't get on the internet? The phone was so broken that they gave back the $100 that people paid for it. Maybe if they upped it to a $200 rebate more people would've gotten the phone.

Again, this isn't a joke/troll post. The truth of the matter is that MS made a horrible product and even people I know that like the old Windows phones seem to hate this monstrosity. So who will Microsoft's pristine app store service if their hardware offerings don't attract a new customer base either in new smart phone owners or iPhone/Android converts? These idiots should've bought RIM, expanded on the Blackberry line of phones and the BB app store, that might have given them a fighting chance with an installed customer base. This...this current incarnation of Windows phones(sorry I mean phone since the Lumia 900 is the only one) is just a joke gone wrong.

If feel for Nokia for getting sucked into this and for anyone that gets suckered into buying a Windows phone.
