Metal Gear Solid V Steam release official

This week the folks at Konami have made it official: Metal Gear Solid 5 will be coming to Steam. PCs will be able to access Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, but first we'll see Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes. Release dates have not yet been shared, but the shorter game will come first, followed by Phantom Pain.

As you'll see above, there's a cardboard box that'll be included in this version of the game(s) that you'll be able to use. This box may or may not have special abilities, but it'll certainly have steam flowing out of it.

The Metal Gear Solid V Steam release has been teased before. Hideo Kojima tipped that the game would come to PC eventually, but now it's official for the near future. We'll likely see the game released across several platforms at once – PS4, Xbox One, and PC at the same time, that is.

Stick around SlashGear as we continue to run down the Metal Gear Solid releases this week. We've also got a first look at gameplay via Gamescom, a completely different demonstration than what was shown at E3 2014.
