It only fires rubber bands, but you’d be forgiven for thinking this fan-made replica of Snake’s pistol from Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots was a lot more dangerous.  Hand-made, it loads by cocking open the top section and threading elastic bands – up to twelve – onto the ratchet wheel; flip off the safety catch and you can either fire them one at a time or in rapid-succession.

Made from 3-5mm stainless steel, the gun weighs around 1.5kg and has a retractable stand that apparently makes holding and aiming it easier.  There’s also a laser target and an LED light.

In all, it apparently took around a month to make.  No plans for mass-production, of course, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see an enterprising replica company leap onto the idea.
