Innovation leads to progress, progress towards an economically ideal market leads to destruction of the false price floors the recording industry and movie industry set. Now the 2 industries are using legislation to keep themselves alive, when they have no reason to exist.

A different way to look at it. If we started our large companies over again and at the same time restarted the government but left technology as it stands today, we would end up with a very very different set of laws. Would copyright law exist? Yes. Would it be extremely different? Yes.
