Maserati’s argument has always been that there are buyers out there who’d love a two-door coupé but, because of family commitments, or other practicality reasons, they need a set of decent rear seats. Plus the audience which might have a driver during the week but want a lively car to drive themselves at the weekend, and prefer to have one vehicle. Hence a sports-sedan like the Quattraporte.
