Marvel's Kevin Feige talks Guardians sequel and more

Marvel's President Kevin Feige took to a Q&A session while in Barcelona recently, talking all things Marvel movies, including whether a sequel to the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy could come to fruition. Other topics of interest include Ant-Man and what's going on with Doctor Strange.

Of course, forefront during the Q&A session was whether another Guardians of the Galaxy movie could be making its way to theaters, and the answer is maybe. Feige stressed that it is possible, but that effort is put fully into the first movie. "So should this film work, should the audience come out for this one, there are definitely places we can take it and we have ideas of where we'd like to go with it, but really all the energy goes into the first movie first."

Meanwhile, Feige also talked about the upcoming Doctor Strange movie, saying the character is one he has been "interested in for many, many years", with "street-level" heroes having been covered. "There's a whole other side of the Marvel universe, and Doctor Strange is, I believe, our entry point into that other realm, which has dozens of characters and storylines of its own."

He goes on to tease that Doctor Strange "is going to open up a whole other side of storytelling in our movies." That other side of storytelling can be hinted at in Marvel's choice of director for the movie: Scott Derrickson.

He also addressed hopes of a crossover movie with X-Men and Spider-Man, and the prospects are dim (at least for now). Said Feige, "It would be great, I think, to be able to have all of the Marvel characters interact one day, in a single movie with Marvel Studios, [but] I don't think that'll happen anytime soon."
