he sent the message using the dating website. The thief used the victims phone to use the dating website and since the phone is registered to the victim , the victim got constant updates hence he used the website to create a fake profile and get back at him.

This story makes no sense. The 2nd paragraph tells us he sent a sexy message to the phone thief- how the hell did he do that? Where did he learn how to contact that person? No explanation is given.
