Man jumps off 45-story building with rocket pack from Go Fast

Today you're going to see a story about a man jumping off a 45-story building with a rocket pack from sources that have no idea why he's doing it. You'll see these sources suggest that this is the first time a rocket pack like this has been used, and you'll only get tiny mentions of the flags flying around the building he's "jumping off" of. You are not reading one of those sources here and now.

The man in the rocket pack is daredevil Nick Macomber, and he's testing his rocket pack for a much more extensive jump. His flight in the video you're about to see is being done in advance of a world-record attempt at rocket-packing off of the roof of the tallest building in the Southern Hemisphere. While the actual tallest free-standing structure in the Southern Hemisphere is the Sky Tower in Auckland at 328 metres (1,076 ft) tall, Macomber may be aiming for something a bit shorter.

The "Go Fast Jet Pack" and its pilot Nick Macomber have appeared quite a few times over the past few years for world records and publicity stunts. On November 24th, 2013, this Macomber became the first man to fly across the Royal Gorge Canoyon with a Jet Pack. Macomber also carried the Olympic torch on July 3rd 2012 past the National Space Centre in Leicester.

Go Fast Jet Pack pilot Eric Scott also used this pack to break the Guinness Record for human traveling at speed in a jetpack. It was May 10th, 2009, and the record was broken at 75MPH. The Go Fast Jet Pack still flies today.
