Man builds jet-propelled wings, soars over the Alps

I've always enjoyed the thought of flying. When I was a kid, I used to dream of becoming a jet fighter pilot (what can I say, I loved Top Gun). Well one man has done what so many others have dreamed of doing; Yves Rossy has taken flight in his own jet-propelled wings.

He has actually been doing this for some time, but just recently decided to show it off to the public. His creation consists of a pair of wings spanning 8 feet with four jet engines. He dropped out of an airplane at roughly 7,500 feet and fell toward the earth. He then began to glide and eventually kicked on the engines which allowed him to soar around in the sky performing various manuevers like figure-8s and 360 loops.

Rossy claims that the device feels like a second skin, and responds fluidly to his commands. He's spent nearly $200,000 on this project, but unfortunately hasn't mentioned any plans to commercially build the craft. While I'm sure I won't be able to afford one any time soon, I would love to fly around in one of these all day.
