Magellan SmartGPS 5390 finds the closest gas and eateries

Magellan has announced that it has a new cloud-connected GPS device that has now launched for drivers. The GPS device is called the Magellan SmartGPS 5390 cloud connected navigation device. It will help you get from point A to point B like any other GPS device out there. It has a few other tricks up its sleeves though.

The GPS device is able to deliver fuel pricing, nearby restaurants and traffic delays. The cool part about the restaurants listings is that it will show you places nearby and the connected device can also link you to Yelp reviews so you can see if the place is good before you stop.

It also gives users access to Foursquare. Other features include PhantomALERT to warn a driver of red-light cameras. Weather reports can let you know what the weather is like wherever you roam. All of that additional data is offered to users of the device with no subscription or data plan needed.

The 5390 gets its connectivity from an app on your smartphone. The app is available for iOS and Android device. Magellan has added the new SmartGPS 5390 to its website and it is available now for $299.99.
