MacBooks are lined up and made to race

I don't really think about how fast my laptop is running until it starts noticeably slowing – then I tend to scream at it and threaten to throw it against the wall, rather than running benchmark tests and comparing its performance to its peers.  Thankfully Macworld has more patience than I do, since they've taken the time to line the new Apple MacBook Pro range against its forbearer's in a Core Duo chip fuelled battle to the death.  Does the faster processor, increased RAM, next-gen core, doubled on-chip L2 cache and higher capacity hard drive mean the latest Mac's steam ahead?  Well of course it does; the question should really be: by how much?Macworld [via Gizmodo]
