With all of the hype surrounding the new iMacs on Tuesday, we missed the fact that Apple has given you the option of RAID on the Mac Pros.

Mac Pro with RAID

When you go to order a shiny new Mac Pro, you should now see the option of a RAID card. The new card is going to take up the top PCI Express card slot. It will support RAID 0, 1, 5, 0+1 and Enhanced JBOD and feature a 256MB cache and a battery to keep your cache backed up for 72 hours.

You’d better want that new RAID card awfully bad. It’s going to set you back an extra $999. That’s like buying a spare MacBook.
