Lyft adds Google Wallet payment option

If you've bought an app from the Google Play Store or any similar actions, your payment info is already stored in Google Wallet, making it easier to make payments the next time you want to buy something online. Lyft wants to make the payment process easier for you, as well, and so it has added Google Wallet as a payment option, letting those who use it skip the process of manually entering their billing information in to the Lyft app.

The Lyft for Android app was updated in the Google Play Store today, and with it comes the addition of a Google Wallet payment option directly inside of the app. It works exactly as you'd expect — tap it, select the card on file you want to use for the payment, and you're good to go.

If you've already got your debit card details on file with Lyft, using Google Wallet won't override that — it'll just become another option from which you can choose when it is time to make a payment for a ride.

That's the only change to the Lyft for Android app, and it comes a single day after Lyft updated its app for iOS. In that latter case, there are no big changes at all — Lyft simply says it has tweaked some things to make sure the entire app is running the way it should be.
