Lumia 830 and 930 turn gold with new special edition

Are the commonly flashy colors of Lumia handsets not entirely to your liking, but black and white too plain? If so, Microsoft has introduced a couple special editions of the (Nokia branded) Lumia 830 and 930 Windows Phone handsets with gold trim along the edges. The Nokia 930 special gold edition will be arriving first followed by the Nokia Lumia 830 rendition some time next month, both of them being offered in black and white with an extra gold flair.

The special edition phones are called the Lumia 830 Gold and the Lumia 930 Gold, with the first of the two being expected to arrive in Africa, Asia Pacific, China, Europe, India, and the Middle East on an unspecified date next month.

The same availability applies to the Lumia 930 Gold, which Microsoft says will be available in black this week but not available in white until the end of this month. There's no word on pricing, with Microsoft simply saying it'll depend on region and carrier.

Aside from the new gold trim, both handsets are still the same as their less showy counterparts, with their most notable features being Windows Phone 8.1, Cortana, the 930's 20-megapixel camera, and more. For more info, you can read our Lumia 930 hands-on here.
