Logitech Touch Lapdesk hides pull-out multitouch trackpad

Jun 8, 2011

Logitech has outed its latest peripheral for notebook users, the Logitech Touch Lapdesk N600, and while it initially looks like any other lap pad it actually hides a slide-out secret. Pull at the right edge, and there's a 5-inch multitouch trackpad to be found, along with a neat row of volume, mute and browser shortcut buttons.

Battery life, Logitech reckons, is around six months from four AAAs, and connectivity is via the company's usual Unifying receiver - which will also work with other mice and keyboards from the firm. The pad itself is scaled for up to 16-inch notebooks, though the trackpad looks to be Windows-only right now.

Cooling is all passive, rather than using fans, with various layers of what Logitech describes as "heat shielding" material. Pricing is $69.99, though the Touch Lapdesk won't go on sale until later this month.
