Livestream unveils Broadcaster Mini, brings streaming to all

A live feed of events is something we often take for granted. For major TV or film studios, it's not so hard to do. They've got the equipment and know-how. You and I, on the other hand, probably aren't so savvy, but still might want to go live. Livestream, who have been pioneering the consumer streaming effort for years, have introduced a smaller version of their hardware called the Livestream Broadcaster Mini. It attaches to just about any camera, and streams live with the push of a button.

With Broadcaster Mini, all you have to do is plug the device in. From there, hit a button, and your stream plays to any screen you like via the browser, app (for iOS and Android), or streaming devices like Roku.

This new-look hardware can be paired via Bluetooth to the Livestream app, which allows you to control the action from your smartphone or tablet. If you manage multiple channels through your Livestream account, you can even choose the channel you want to broadcast through.

The hardware is capable for use on any camera that has an HDMI port, says Livestream.

In addition to the Broadcaster Mini, Livestream is replacing their more professional Broadcaster with the Broadcaster Pro. Like the Mini, Pro will forgo the AA batteries in favor of a rechargeable Lithium Ion powers source. The Pro will have a built-in LED screen, too.

The Broadcaster Mini ships today, and will run you $295. The Pro is set fur debut in April, and hits the $95 price point.
